Starlink Equipment Options
Starlink Gen 2 is no longer available in the Starlink Shop. You can buy it from resellers online or other people who are selling it. If you purchase the equipment from another user, they will need to transfer the equipment to you. You can read mor information below on how to transfer Starlink Equipment.
Starlink Gen 3 is the current dish and router that the Starlink shop offers. This dish is less expensive than the Gen 2 dish, but it is a stationary dish and slightly more difficult to place.
Starlink Gen 2 vs. Gen 3
The main difference between Starlink Gen 2 and Gen 3 is that Gen 3 features a non-moving, flat dish design with a wider field of view, while Gen 2 has a motorized, articulating dish that can rotate to find satellites, with Gen 3 generally offering faster speeds and improved WiFi performance through its newer router design, but potentially using slightly more power than Gen 2.
